[ The recording is from a young man. His voice is formal, yet warm. Clearly this man knows how to make a good first impression. ]

To be honest, this is the first time I saw a device like this. Communication devices are rare in our world, you see, and most of them don’t look like journals. But I have to say, it’s quite a nice touch.

Ah, I’m afraid I still have to introduce myself: my name is Cho Hakkai. I’ve been travelling for about a year with three companions, and while we do often get sidetracked, being kidnapped for experiments and wings is a first for me – not that I’m quite fond of this current situation. [ There is distant sigh, as if one was exasperated. ]

I’ve managed to read the guide, so thankfully most of my questions have been answered. However, I might need some help in finding for my friends. As I have said earlier, I was with three other people before I ended up here – a stern man with golden hair, another man with long antennae who smokes a lot, and an energetic young boy with a diadem around his forehead. I know that not everybody ends up here at the same time but just in case. If they’re around, can you tell me where I might find them? Thank you.

[ There was a small pause before he speaks again – this time he’s stifling a chuckle, although he also managed to somewhat sound apologetic. ]

However, it's not just his polite introduction that catches her attention, but her name.

Hakkai. She knows that name from an energetic young boy with a diadem around his forehead. She's quiet for a bit before she responds, her voice gentle, her words careful.]

I see. Then as his first teacher, I must thank you for taking care of him while I was gone.

Genjyo Sanzo and Sha Gojyo are not present, although they may well arrive soon. The drawing of newcomers is quite unpredictable.

Son Goku, however, is here, and has been for some time. He is also from a time far before yours.

[ ...Oh. He knows that voice. Hakkai was aware of people coming from different times, but he didn't expect to see him here.

He takes a moment before composing himself. Just how do you greet a former enemy? ]

Hello, Homura.

How far is Goku from? Has he met us yet?

[Homura lets out a quiet laugh at the question. Logical though it may be, the answer is a complicated one. Before he replies, Homura filters the conversation, should the boy in question make an inopportune discovery.]

Not when he first arrived, no. He only had memory of his time in the Heavens--memories that were stripped away before his imprisonment.

But he did meet you, during your prior stay in this place.

[ Hakkai notes the laugh, but nothing more. Homura has his secrets - let him keep them. ]

Did anything of note happened the last time I was here?

[Action] Hope this is okay... it was this or yelling at the journals

[It doesn't matter where Hakkai is, or what he's doing, because at one point -maybe when he has been informed about Goku's presence and such- there's going to be a little boy flying tackling him. Because that's the best way to welcome someone who has just arrived, of course.]

[ Hakkai was just spending his good time looking around when - thump - some small form decided to tackle him. The force was enough to make him stumble, but thankfully it wasn't enough to make both of them crash towards the ground.

He already had a good feeling who just greeted him - but oh my, it has been a while since he saw Goku this small. Still, Goku is a good friend, and so Hakkai greets him back with a brilliant smile. ]

Goku! I'm glad you're alright.

[Action]

[At least this time the tackle is for hugs and not to hit him like that first time? Goku is just a bundle of laughs at the moment, becoming a clingy mass that refuses to let go of the man's waist. He has done his best, really, he has been strong and patient and waited quietly, but he has missed Hakkai and the others so much. Even if he kept repeating to everyone that they would return, that his friends would join him there, part of him had feared it wouldn't be that way. It's hard to remain hopeful when so many things crush that hope. But now Hakkai is here and the kid can do nothing but laugh in relief.]

Hakkai, you're late! I was waiting for you all! Did you find Konze- I mean, Sanzo and Gojyo? Did you bring them with you?

[The kid looks around, smiling, as if expecting to see the two men walk out from behind a bush or something. But upon seeing no one whose face he would recognize as his friends from home the kid looks at Hakkai again expecting answers.]

[ Oh, he knows how much Goku is happy - Hakkai is happy to see him too, even though they were together just moments ago, although the Goku he was with earlier was an older one and a more mature one. Still, he can't deny that he missed his little student. True, this Goku has yet to meet him and maybe learn how to count oranges from him, but it seems like 500 years of imprisonment did not change him much.

But once he asked for their friends, Hakkai falters. He didn't know how long Goku waited for them, but from experience he knew how Goku hated to be alone. He gives Goku a sad and apologizing smile. ]

I'm sorry Goku. They were with me [ - us - ] not too long ago, but when I found myself here, Sanzo and Gojyo weren't around.

[Voice]

-- [What does this mark - the third time this guy has been here? Sanji nearly passes over this, but he had liked Hakkai the first two times, and maybe old habits just die hard]

This isn't your first time. [Said frankly.] At least, not by Luceti's count.

So I've heard. I'm afraid I have no memories of my past time, however.

I assume you have met me before, Mister...?

I'm afraid there's nothing we can do about the Malnosso's whims, but I'll try my best not to disappear for a third time.

Sounds a little like a sitcom.

That's a very accurate way of describing my situation until now.

Imagine, if you will, a pair of rowdy men bickering with each other until another man interferes, slapping both of their heads with a paper fan.

[ He laughs. Nothing malicious, mind - he just sounds sincerely pleased. ]

I'm glad, it looks like he made a lot of friends here.

Well, it's only natural a kid like him would make so many friends.. [ because she's honestly not surprised to hear it. ] It's hard to reject someoen who's that friendly towards you, after all.

I hope you find your friends here, I-I was traveling with three people before I came here too. A girl with blue eyes, a guy with a hat, and a Viewer. [ pause ] Oh, and Toto too, he was a dog sometimes. B-b-but none of them...I'm by myself. Name's Glitch.

[ A small laugh escapes from his lips. ]

Ah, a kindred spirit! I will make sure to keep an eye out for them, Glitch-san. ...If you don't mind, may I ask what a Viewer is in your world?

Oh, they're...like psychics, they see with their hearts. [ really not a useful explanation but hey, Glitch works with what he's got. ] And they wear fur so they look a little like lions but-- they're not.
